Worship & Music Committee

The Worship Committee coordinates support for all worship services. It provides training and scheduling for ushers, greeters and ordained officers to help serve communion.  It prepares children and youth for participation in worship, for example by serving as acolytes or youth liturgists.

The committee ensures sound, light and recording issues are functioning for all services. The committee organizes workshops to help ushers and greeters further the ministry of hospitality, welcoming newcomers and all who attend worship.  Special emphasis is made on welcoming children in support of the current priorities of the church.

Tasks such as filling candles, the preparation of the elements for communion, and the recording of the Sunday services are carried out by volunteers under the auspices of this committee.  This committee is responsible for tracking worship attendance and keeping attendance records.

This committee supports the Director of Music for public performances such as concerts and musical events.  The committee helps plan and implement such in-house events, produces a program and supports any ticket donations and ushering before or during the events.  The committee works with the Music Director to ensure the musical offerings serve the greater purpose of the worship of God.
