    <title>Acolyte Schedule</title>
    <description>&lt;div class=&quot;text blurb&quot;&gt;Among the many ways that young people lead the congregation in worship is as acolytes. The word &quot;acolyte&quot; comes from the Greek word meaning &quot;to follow&quot;--acolytes are first of all followers of Christ. Their role is to carry the light of Christ (symbolized in their lighting wands) into the sanctuary at the beginning of worship to remind us all of God's presence with us. At the conclusion of the service they carry the light of Christ out into the world, following Christ and leading us to carry that light with us in service to the world that God loves.

Children from 2nd grade to 7th grade participate in the program.  Please contact Di Pagel, Director of Christian Education, if your child would like to be trained as an acolyte.&lt;/div&gt;
